Coco SnailsThese
cutest of cute - chocolate coloured Sea Snails from the sea shore are
the perfect tank mates for Teeny Weeny Winkles, your Sea Dragons, Sea
Bubbles or Sea Monkeys, and they’re all happy to live together as well.
Why
are Coco Snails like the other instant pets we offer?
Coco Snails love
to hibernate when the salty pools they inhabit begin to dry up. In fact
they are happy to stay asleep for several months with out water just
waiting for the day the highest of high tide’s finally fill their pools!
Because of this, Coco Snails can be shipped literally anywhere in the
world as they are a bit like a seed or plant tuber in that they can
tolerate much wider extremes of temperature, and dryness than most
animals do and manage this just the same way as Sea Monkeys or Sea
Dragons.
How will they be shipped? When
your Coco Snails arrive they’ll be asleep, just pop them into your Sea
Monkey home and watch them spring to life, have a little yawn, maybe
even a scratch under the ear or two (not that they have any toe nails or ears offcourse) and
then start looking for some algae to munch on.
How are they benifitial? Coco
Snails and Teeny Weeny Winkles work very hard cleaning away excessive
growth of algae from your briny world and besides, with Sea Snails there
is so much more to look at when gazing into your mini ocean viewer!
Along with the other sea critters Little Aussie proudly provides you’ll
be able to build a really interesting sea side habitat and just to let
you know with all these characters we have now our list of ideas just
keeps growing!
Whats different Coco Snails compared to Teeny Weeny Winkles?
Compared
to their prettier cousin, Coco's are a uniform chocolate colour with a
smooth whirled shell more like a pond snail than a sea snail. They are
not as fussy about their water being as salty and are so tough they can
nearly live in fresh water! The Benifits to keeping Coco's
Coco
snails also like to stay under the water unlike their mischievous
escape artist brethren the Winkles who do like to go for a little wonder
every now and again (though they never really go far). So because they
like to be “in” the tank all of the time, you’ll be able to watch them
more often and you’ll see how much more active they are during the day.
This can only mean they do an even better job at eating algae and left
over food when closely compared to Teeny Weeny Winkles performance.
Perhaps Teeny Weeny Winkles with their pretty shells are the "prima
Donna’s" of our “magic sea of wonders” and cute little Coco’s are the
work horses when “algae control" is your primary concern.
